Just days before the signing of the Hanoi Convention on Cybercrime — a historic milestone affirming Vietnam’s commitment to global cybersecurity cooperation — the Vietnam Student Cybersecurity Competition 2025 took place. The Vietnam Cybersecurity Joint Stock Company (VSEC), one of the nation’s pioneering cybersecurity firms, once again demonstrated its leadership by sponsoring and accompanying the event.
22 Years of Growth Alongside Vietnam’s Cybersecurity Journey
Founded in 2003 as the Cybersecurity Warning Center, VSEC served as one of the first lines of defense, helping local organizations identify and respond to emerging cyber threats when the internet was still new to Vietnam.
Over two decades later, VSEC has evolved into a comprehensive Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), offering a full suite of security services — from Pentest, Red Teaming, and Security Operations Center (SOCaaS / Managed SIEM) to DFIR (Digital Forensics and Incident Response), CA (Compromise Assessment), and Threat Intelligence Platforms.
Today, VSEC protects thousands of organizations and businesses across banking, finance, insurance, e-commerce, and critical national infrastructure.
VSEC is also recognized internationally, partnering with leading organizations such as CREST International, BSides Global, Black Panda, IBM, and Recorded Future, along with regional and global research institutions. These partnerships not only strengthen VSEC’s technical expertise but also create valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and international collaboration within Vietnam’s cybersecurity community.

Empowering the Next Generation – The Future of Vietnam’s Cyber Defenders
As a company founded by young IT engineers who once faced the same challenges, VSEC deeply understands the importance of nurturing cybersecurity talent.
That’s why community development has always been at the heart of VSEC’s mission. The company has continuously invested in education and talent-building initiatives — from collaborating with universities nationwide, leading the Information Security Village at Techfest Vietnam, supporting competitions like SBC, to bringing the international BSides conference to Vietnam for the first time on October 9, which gathered nearly 200 local and international experts.
VSEC’s participation in the Vietnam Student Cybersecurity Competition 2025 further reinforces its commitment to developing young cybersecurity professionals.
This initiative provides students with a hands-on learning environment — helping them build real-world security skills, understand both attack and defense tactics, and engage with peers across more than 20 universities in the region.
Beyond the competition itself, it fosters a spirit of global collaboration and knowledge sharing among the next generation of cyber defenders.

Bridging Vietnamese and Global Knowledge
Speaking at the preliminary round on October 18, Mr. Trần Thanh Long, CEO of VSEC, emphasized: “Investing in young talent is the most sustainable way to safeguard our nation’s digital future. We don’t just want to be a sponsor — we want to be a companion on their journey, connecting Vietnamese knowledge with the world. Since our founding, we’ve always believed that Vietnamese people are talented, creative, and capable of bringing fresh perspectives to global cybersecurity.”
